The Queen of the Internet Report: Investment Bible and Stock Selection Guide in the Internet Field
In 1994, Mikel stumbled upon a report in The New York Times about the startup company Mosaic developing a web browser. Mikel immediately realized that this web browser could change the way people access information. She then contacted the two founders of Mosaic and vigorously introduced the company to Wall Street investors.
Mosaic later changed its name to Netscape and went public in New York in 1995. Thanks to the good relationship between Mikel and the two founders of Netscape, Morgan Stanley became the lead underwriter for Netscape's initial public offering (IPO).
On August 9th of that year, Netscape's first day of trading closed with its stock price skyrocketing from $14 to $75, setting a record for the first day increase of a listed company at that time. The IPO of Netscape also became a symbol of the arrival of the Internet era.
In 1995, in addition to being responsible for the listing of Netscape, Mikel and his colleague Chris Depp began to publish the Internet Report, and first put forward the "page views" and other online stock analysis indicators. This report is regarded by investors as the investment bible in the Internet field, and has been published in public, which has caused great repercussions in the entire technology industry.
From 1996 to 1997, Mikel and Morgan Stanley released the Internet Advertising Report and Internet Retail Report, which established Mikel's position as the first analyst in the Internet field. The report of the Internet Queen almost became a must read report for every Internet entrepreneur at that time.
The Queen of the Internet Report is no different from a stock selection guide. The stocks of companies she recommended to investors, such as AOL, Dell, Amazon, eBay, etc., quickly brought investment returns of over ten times.
